Michael Butler is the Global Product Manager of Precision Hand Tools for the L.S. Starrett Company. He is responsible for the general business development and growth of over 3,500 precision measuring products worldwide - A majority of which continue to be built at corporate headquarters in Athol, Massachusetts. The Starrett Company is a 2,000 employee manufacturer of metrology equipment with production facilities in China, Brazil, and the UK, and publicly traded on the NYSE. Mike has over 10 years of professional experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Education. He is an engineering graduate from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts, a member of the Product Development and Management Association, and currently holds an Engineer-In-Training Certification issued by the State of California.

Mike is a “steward-in-training” for the advancement of technical education and is convinced that at any age in time, technology drives the middle class to increase value to the marketplace, providing a critical ingredient in the creation of prosperity. He believes that technical education not only provides an individual with a valuable skill set that companies like Starrett are increasingly in demand for, but also enables the individual to build a foundation for their own personal growth. He believes that business is an equally responsible player in workforce development and must take an active role in the battle for technical education. Please welcome Mike Butler.
